I find it terribly amusing when people claim that the only scientists who call catastrophic man-made global warming into question are those who have been paid off by the oil companies (especially considering the fact that oil companies have quite a lot to gain by environmental legislation, as it eliminates competition). In actuality, it’s often the global warming alarmists who are being paid off for their reports.

Case in point: “[Global warming alarmist James] Hansen was packaged for the media by [George] Soros’ flagship ‘philanthropy,’ by as much as $720,000, most likely under the OSI’s ‘politicization of science’ program.” (IDB editorial, Sept. 24, 2007)

When Hansen, who is also buddies with alarmist Al Gore, was courting the media with their beloved man-made global warming agenda, little did we know that he was receiving cash and coaching from liberal George Soros.

This does not, in and of itself, mean that what Hansen said (and is still saying) is untrue. It does, however, bring a little humor to the global warming mudslinging in which the alarmists claim to be “pure” scientists while the skeptics are “oil company lackeys”.

Oh, how the pot loves to call the kettle black.
